Getting Creative, Getting Sweaty, & Staying Hydrated

Being stuck at home doesn't have to prevent you from reaching those fitness goals and getting your daily gains. It's amazing what you can do with just your body alone. I'm all about bodyweight exercises, but for those of you who need a little more something to get in the mood, check out our home workout recommendations.

If you like to get sweaty, get your heart rate up, and who don't have the space to devote a whole room to working out, check out Monkii and their products. They're easy to set up (all you need is a door) and their app comes equipped with workouts and inspiration. Their setup is portable and lightweight too so it makes for a great travel companion (we can dream, right?) And the creator, Dan, is surely a guy worth following, even if just from the ground. Watch this video to see what we mean.

If you're a yogi, eager to get back into your flows, check out Gaia, which features over 8,000 videos from various instructors with varying levels, so whether you're a beginner or you're a yogi master, there's something for you.

And if you like a little of both, my roommate loves Sadi Nardini's online yoga classes combined with HIT. Check her out here, if you want to get flexible while getting strong.

For those who like to take to the outdoors to get your heart rate up (and by that, we mean running in your neighborhood, six feet away from others, and with a mask if you have it), just get your tunes going and enjoy the fresh air. And of course, remember to stay hydrated! According to MindBodyGreen, it's important to start hydrating before you work out. Dehydration can negatively affect your performance while exercising, so it's important to keep your mouth to the water bottle, even before you start breaking a sweat. And I can attest to this. I recently got back into running and if I don't properly hydrate before I begin my run, by the end of it, I have serious stomach pains that last long after I've stopped running and stunt my digestion for the rest of the day. Fun right?

While you're exercising, your body temperature increases and by being pre-hydrated, it allows your body to sweat while you exercise so as to regulate your body temperature. The American Council on Exercise recommends drinking 17 to 20 ounces of water (about two cups), 2 to 3 hours before exercise and another 8 ounces (one cup) half an hour before you begin your workout. That way you avoid those awkward post workout stomach cramps (take it from me), and your body can sustain its energy levels. Oh, and drink water after too, because all that water you lost via sweat needs to be replenished somehow.

So check out one of our bottles or pitchers! Because drinking just any water is not the same as drinking highly filtered, EPIC, water.
