Corrosive Water Filter
Many older homes (and some newer) have pipes, solders and/or plumbing fixtures made from copper, lead or other metals. Corrosive water may dissolve some of these metals to create both aesthetic as well as health related problems in drinking water. In certain cases, corrosion can be severe enough to cause leaks in your  plumbing system.
  • Discoloring of water. These are symptoms of metallic corrosion.

  • Smell, Tastes and Odors. Corrosion by iron, copper, and brass makes a bitter or metallic taste & sometimes bad odors.

  • Sediment and particulate. Rust accumulates as reddish brown sediment. This particles can damage your appliances and faucets as well as your health.

  • Leaks. Dripping water and cretaceous deposits on the outside of pipes are signs of corrosion within.

A good way to remove or reduce your exposure to corrosion in your drinking water is by having a good sediment filter and a good carbon block filter before your faucet that you use for drinking water, like the Epic Smart Shield 5 Micron Sediment Filter and the Epic Smart Shield Carbon Block Filter, which is NSF/ANSI certified against 3 different NSF/ANSI standards.
